Kurzbeschrieb

Seit ihrer Jugend beschäftigt sich Branca intensiv mit Funk, Rap und Hip Hop, und engagiert sich in der Bieler Crew „Capsule Corporation“ für Projekte rund um die Hip Hop Kultur. Seit 2009 verbringt Branca jedes Jahr einige Wochen in New York und erweitert ihren Horizont in den Stilen House, New Style, Waacking, Voguing sowie Modern, Contemporary und Capoeira. Ihr umfassendes Wissen zur Hip Hop und House Kultur gibt sie beim Unterricht sowohl in Bern bei der Tanzschule Bounceurban, im X-Project in Biel sowie im Tanzwerk101 weiter. Von 2011-2014 besuchte sie eine Flexi-Ausbildung in den Fächern Ballett, Modern und Jazz an der Zürcher-Tanz-Theater Schule (ZTTS). Branca ist Teil der urban contemporary dance art companie TeKi TeKua und zusammen mit Michèle Paleta Rhyner formte sie das Duo Webo Sisters, welches unteranderem Workshops in Rio de Janeiro (BRA) unterrichtete und zusammen mit der französischen 9z Crew (Belfort, FR) im Centre Chorégraphique National de Franche-Compté, Belfort das Stück à la source für das festival évidanse und Tanzplan Ost kreierte. Sie arbeitete bisher mit Choreographen wie Leigh Foster, Andrea von Gunten, Chris de Feyter, Nadine Sieber, Nadine Imboden, Tiziana Cocca, Jonathan Huor, Marko Lulic und Olivia Marinoni.

No one man owns house because house music is a universal language, spoken and understood by all. House is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you’re deep into the vibe of house. House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body. Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house. You may be black, you may be white; you may be jew or gentile. It don’t make a difference in OUR House.

The lyrics of this classic house track are very soulful, emotional and strong – a sort of testament about house music, the importance of Jack, the true spirit of the community, and its universal nature. To me those qualities contribute to the essence of house dance culture, which I find very important to transmit in my classes. Besides that I focus on basic vocabulary, variations, the importance of lofting/aka freestyle floor movement and influencing movements from capoeira, tap, jazz, hip hop and African and Latin dances. In my class you will also find the amusement of connecting to music, space and the people around you. From beginner to advanced over interested and crossovers from other styles – I aspire to bring everybody, willing to let go within their individuality, under one house.
